2009 Lexus LF-A Supercar Ready for the 2009 Nurburgring 24 Hour Race

It was only last week that we learnt that the ‘always in development never on sale’ Lexus LF-A was heading back to the ‘Ring to compete in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race in May.

The latest news is that incoming Toyota President, Akio Toyoda (grandson of the company’s founder) will be enjoying some wheel time during the event. Toyoda is 52 years old, and will team up with three other drivers to punt the Lexus supercar around the ‘Ring.

In addition to genuinely racing the LF-A, Toyota will be using the enduro event to log more data on the LF-A (under race conditions), in the lead up to what is expected (hoped) to be an October launch, at the Tokyo Motor Show.
